Epec Vice President, Dana Laflash Wins Bronze Stevie® Award In 2012 Stevie Awards For Women In Business

[November 10, 2012: Bristol, RI] Dana Laflash has been named the winner of a Bronze Stevie® Award in the Female Executive of the Year category in the 9th annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business.

The Stevie Awards for Women in Business are the world's top honors for female entrepreneurs, executives, and the organizations they run. All individuals and organizations worldwide are eligible to submit nominations – public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small. The 2012 awards received entries from 17 nations and territories.

Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word for "crowned," the awards were presented to winners during a dinner at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. These awards are often referred to as the "Oscars" of the business world.

More than 1,200 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories, including Entrepreneur of the Year, Executive of the Year, Company of the Year, Mentor of the Year, Women Helping Women, and Communications Campaign of the Year, among others. Dana Laflash won in the Female Executive of the Year category for Business Products 11 to 2,500 employees.

As Vice President of Manufacturing Operations and Finance at Epec Engineered Technologies, Dana is responsible for providing overall direction and guidance to the operational activities of the organization with the objective of maximizing growth, profitability and customer satisfaction as well as day-to-day leadership and management and performance of all Department functions – Manufacturing, Materials Management, Production Planning, Process Engineering and Finance.

In addition, Dana is responsible for executing all of the company's internal and external reporting as well as ensuring that these documents comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. She also assumes responsibility for maximizing the return on Epec's financial assets and for establishing financial policies, procedures and reporting systems.

Prior to joining Epec, Dana was the Senior Accounting Manager with Janco Inc. She has held a similar role with East Bay Community Development Corp., serving as the Financial Officer throughout her 6 year tenure. Dana has a solid track record in finance and organizational leadership with expertise in accounting, auditing and financial analysis. Dana graduated "Summa Cum Laude" from Thomas College in Waterville, Maine.

Stevie Award winners were selected by more than 200 executives worldwide who participated in the judging process this year.
