Quality Engineering Technician

The Quality Engineering Technician is responsible for working in four main areas essential to improved customer satisfaction: Process Improvement, New Product Introduction, QMS Support, and Product Quality Improvement. Quality Engineering Technician Duties include: Support teams planning to improve of products and processes with quality techniques like technical writing; descriptive statistics; inspection & test development; structured problem solving. Assist teams launch new products into production, focusing on process control issues both for in house assembly or sourced through the supply chain. Support the quality management system issues like: new products validation, engineering change control, document control, calibration, quality auditing, and MRB. Support Epec’s commitment to the highest quality products through activities such as: Supplier assessments, selection, development; troubleshooting of quality and delivery issue; trend analysis.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Resolve technical issues for product in MRB.
  • Work to resolve customer complaints.
  • Develop test, inspection, and assembly plans for new products.
  • Create and maintain quality documentation such as forms, WIs and procedures.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled quality audits. Perform follow up audits, verification audits and unscheduled audits.
  • Resolve technical issues arising in inspection, production and RMA process.
  • Collect data in support of process analysis, control and improvement.
  • Inspect components before assembly.
  • Participate in 5S program.
  • Other job duties may be assigned.

Other Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Ability to occasionally lift or move objects that are up to 25 lbs.
  • Comfortable to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Self-starter that is able to work extended hours as required to satisfy customer deadlines.
  • Occasional travel.

Quality Control Inspector

The Quality Control Inspector (QCI) is responsible for all quality activities related to the inspection/verification of new orders and repeat orders with changes for shipment from Epec, LLC. The inspector will verify product meets customer requirements by performing random audits on new orders and repeat orders with changes available for shipment from Epec, LLC. The QCI must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings (prints). The QCI performs mechanical inspection using a variety of metrologies such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, optical comparators, etc. The QCI must work closely with the Vice President of Operations and engineering.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates raw materials, WIP, and finished goods for conformance to standards and specifications. Primary focus on PCBs.
  • Interprets the results of inspection and tests, compare them to established specifications and standards to evaluate part conformance.
  • Identify nonconforming products to assure product is segregated or readily identifiable from conforming material.
  • Communicates the results of inspection and tests to ensure speedy product disposition and issue resolution.
  • Document inspection results by completing reports; inputting data into Epec databases.
  • Support production schedules as requested by screening suspect parts or reworking discrepant materials.
  • Observe safety and security procedures; determine appropriate action beyond guideline; report potentially unsafe conditions; use equipment and materials properly.

Product Manager - Cable Assemblies

The Product Manager – Cable Assembly (PM) is considered to be the resident expert within Epec for cable assembly products. It is the responsibility of the Product Manager to work with customers to provide solutions to specific customer problems through design consultation and, where needed, creation of a specific design. Additionally, the Product Manager, will be responsible for the overall effectiveness of the quote process and resultant business success. The Product Manager will assure that factories receive clear instruction on what each is expected to do and to assure that these instructions are carried out. Ongoing capability assessments are to be conducted to assure Epec is developing our offering commensurate with market/customer demands.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work with customers to develop and design solution to their problem(s).
  • Oversee the quotation process to assure the opportunity is legitimate before exploring and to assure all necessary information is available. Assure all information and completed document package is sent to Account Manager.
  • Work with team to design and build powerful products and processes, developing and sustaining components to meet customer needs.
  • Manage the documentation process to include latest revisions; specifics and changes are documented in NetSuite; assure factory documentation package is clear and accurate prior to sending to factory.
  • Work with factories to ensure documents are understood, delivery commitments are feasible, anything changed at factory is communicated to New Bedford, all incoming inspection criteria are understood by us.
  • Ensure factory documentation management processes are accurate and reliable.
  • Work closely with Operations and Engineering to assure continuous process improvements are made.
  • Work with customers when production issues arise.
  • Other job duties may be assigned.

Other Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Travel in field as warranted.
  • Individual metrics to apply for each Product Manager.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in specified Cable Assembly Product Design required.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
